The Minim Landsborough Vineyard Grenache comes from the Pyrenees vineyard of famed French winery Chapoutier, and the wine certainly has an Old World feel and appeal to it.
Fruit for this wine comes from a biodynamic vineyard in what is a cool-climate wine region. The grapes were picked later than usual in order to develop flavour ripeness, which certainly comes through in the wine. It's big, juicy and fragrant without being an alcoholic monster, with lots of red fruits, quince, cinnamon and star anise characters, and some slight herbaceousness on the palate.
It's already coming out of its shell now but feel free to cellar it for a few more years.
